Scarlet Tanager - New Jersey
Adult male Scarlet Tanager perched on a branch:
This is one of the locations I found last year without relying on any reports etc. Just my own curiosity and willingness to explore new places. Actually, there are no reports from this location and I’ve never saw anyone birding this location whatsoever. Which is somewhat disappointing as just in 2 hours spent there, I recorded over 20 species of songbirds! Simply put, do not rely solely on reports. Take time and explore new, unreported locations this upcoming season. I bet, you will be amazed what birds you can find on your own…
I will be back there shortly. Why? As it happened late in the season, one of the birds I found there by pure accident, should have chicks soon. Can you guess the species?
Which version do you prefer? Close-up or wider crop?
