Semipalmated Sandpiper - East Coast, USA
Semipalmated Sandpiper scratching its head:
Ever since I switched to a mirrorless camera, I started taking more backlit photographs. Why? Simply because I didn't feel safe looking at the sun through the optical viewfinder of a DLSR camera with my large telephoto lens attached. After all, eyes are one of the most important tool of the photographer 😋 Mirrorless camera makes it much safer as you are simply looking at the LCD viewfinder/screen… No harm to your eyes.
I hope you like this kind of shots, as you will be seeing more of them, here 😁
This photograph was taken at my latest favorite location on the East Coast. I will be including detailed information on this spot in my upcoming guide to photographing shorebirds in the tri-state area. If you are interested, I’m currently offering it at the discounted price: https://www.greggard.com/location-guides/shorebirds-tri-state-nj-ny-ct-photography-ebook
