Ruddy Turnstone - East Coast, USA

Ruddy Turnstone searching for food:

Ruddy Turnstone ( Arenaria interpres ) walking on a wet sand - Tri-state area, East Coast, USA

I can’t wait for the return of these birds. Turnstones are one of my favorite birds to photograph at the shore. After few seasons, it came to my attention that I have an involuntary habit to yell out loud “Ruddyyyyy!” every time I see one🙈🤣 Luckily, there is no one around most of the time. Most of the time… 😝

This photograph was taken at the location described on page 25 of my guide to photographing migrating shorebirds in the tri-state region: https://www.greggard.com/location-guides/shorebirds-tri-state-nj-ny-ct-photography-ebook
