Semipalmated Plover - East Coast, USA

Semipalmated Plover feeding on a long sandworm:

Semipalmated Plover ( Charadrius semipalmatus ) stretching a worm out - Tri-state area, East Coast, USA

This worm put out a good fight. According to the EXIF data, it took 20 seconds for this plover to fully pull it out๐Ÿ˜ฎand another 30 seconds to eat it ๐Ÿ˜

This photograph was taken at the location described on page 28 of my guide to photographing migrating shorebirds in the tri-state region: https://www.greggard.com/location-guides/shorebirds-tri-state-nj-ny-ct-photography-ebook

If you preordered this guide from me, you should have received a copy already. Some of you got it at a 50% discount! Early bird indeed gets a worm ๐Ÿ˜œ Originally, I was planning on including 9 spots but I ended up describing 15 of my favorite locations in this ebook. I hope you will have fun exploring these spots and you will get some amazing shots there as well!
