Young Red Knot - East Coast, USA
Juvenile Red Knot walking on the beach in search for food:
You might wonder what makes a bird juvenile and/or immature?
"Juvenile" is a bird in its first plumage but the term "immature" defines a bird that is any age other than adult - young bird after its first/juvenile feathers had molted.
I’m sorry for lack of posts lately. I’ve been busy not only at my day job but also with frequent visits to the locations on which I’m posting regular updates. If you are a subscriber, you don’t want to miss the latests posts🤩
Also, in upcoming 4-6 weeks I will be visiting locations described in my shorebird guide (link in the bio) where as you can see birds have arrived.
