Black-bellied Plover - East Coast, USA
It’s Fridaaay!!! 😁
Black-bellied Plover standing on one leg with an open beak as it is vocalizing:
I was rather surprised when I found a small flock of these plovers still “wearing” their breeding plumage in late summer. One thing for sure, I wasn't complaining at all and gladly kept photographing them until a raptor flew by scaring them away. I believe that this birds was vocalizing at the moment I took this photograph but it is also possible that it was just yawning.
Have a great weekend!
