Semipalmated Plover pulling a worm out - East Coast, USA
Tug of war between a juvenile Semipalmated Plover and a worm:
Or is it drinking through a straw? š¤£
This is another shot from a previously posted series. This time, it shows the worm almost fully out and the plover in more appealing position. Photographing at the high frame setting (fps) yields a lot of shots and at times it is difficult to pick a favorite š
With the recent time change, I find myself spending more time outside rather than at the front of computer editing and creating regular posts. Iām afraid that this will be a norm for me for next few months as bird activity picks up pretty quickly in my area and I have few trips and personal projects planned. I would suggest on getting out as often as you can!
Here is a slightly closer look and a vertical crop:
This particular shot was taken at the location described on page 25 of my guide: https://www.greggard.com/location-guides/shorebirds-tri-state-nj-ny-ct-photography-ebook.
Photograph captured with a Canon 1DXII camera paired with a Canon 600mm f/4 IS II lens, using following settings: 1/800 s, f/8, ISO 1000
