New Jersey's Own Heron Rookery
New Jersey's Own Heron Rookery
version 1.1
Location Guide to the Heron Rookery in Southern New Jersey
In this Location Guide, Iām sharing tips on:
- how to get highly desirable photographs of birds with a beautiful blurry backgrounds / bokeh right in the camera
- how to get flying shots on the green background
- how to time your visit for a specific behavior (courtship displays, nesting, hatching etc).
This rookery is located very close to the parking lot and there is no much walking required. The way the viewing area is situated, offers an excellent opportunity to observe and photograph these birds at eye-level and even from above.
My guides are written to give you a great start on your very first visit. If you are a frequent visitor to this rookery but cannot get the quality of images you see online, following my guide will highly improve your chances of getting them on your next visit. No photoshop tricks required!
