Marbled Godwit - Hilton Head Island, South Carolina, USA
Marbled Godwit walking on the beach:
I’ve spent only few hours on the Hilton Head Island, South Carolina last Winter when driving back from my trip to Southwest Florida ( https://www.greggard.com/location-guides/southwest-florida-bird-photography-location-guide-ebook ). Being it only about 30 minutes from the I-95 I’ve decided to take a gamble and scout the area out. Arriving in the dark at the unknown location, without any information on what to expect and where to shoot etc. wasn't the most appealing plan to my wife in the early morning. The moment the sun started highlighting first clouds and filling the sky with magenta and orange hues, she was the first one on the beach shooting away while I was still at the parking lot scrambling to collect all of my camera gear😁
This magical light was well worth a detour. Cooperative birds were just the icing on the cake🤩 We can’t wait to go back!
More photos and videos from this short visit soon.
I took this photo as a silhouette but decided to brightened the bird (pull up the shadows) in post.
What do you think? Do you like seeing some detail in the bird or would you prefer to see a “proper” silhouette?
And most importantly,
Have a Great Weekend!!!
