Clapper Rail - New Jersey

On the left side of the panoramic crop below, I decided to include a blurry silhouette of a bird that can also be found there. Can you guess its name?

Were you able to guess the name of that bird? It was a Black-crowned Night Heron. As it turns out, this spot is also good for night herons.

I must admit, this Clapper Rail was an accidental find. I revisited this spot for the first time in 3 years this past summer. My target that day were migrating shorebirds. To my surprise, it happened to be a great spot for Clapper Rails! I thought it will be my first and last day there but I decided to give it a chance one more time. As it turned out, it was one of the most visited spots by me this past season and I will be back there next year for sure.
