This particular shot was taken by my wife from the spot described on page 12 of my guide: https://www.greggard.com/location-guides/short-eared-owls-new-york-location-guide Even though this is not my favorite spot to photograph from, my wife managed to get a great photo there🤩 I like how the sun is illuminating the feathers from underneath.
