I’ve been visiting this particular location, to photograph songbirds, for many years but this was the first time I saw a Barred Owl there. Actually, I’ve heard it first but quickly some of the warblers forced it into my direction. It stayed in this general spot for few minutes, until another “army” of birds came over and chased it away. Fortunately, I got a chance to see it, as well as its mate, on few other occasions throughout the season.

Keep your ears open whenever/wherever you go! You never know what you will find even at your regular birding spots.
