Hooded Warbler singing video - New Jersey

Adult male Hooded Warbler preening and singing:

I was lucky enough to get accepted by this bird to the point that it was comfortable enough to preen and sing at front of me for few minutes. Believe me, it doesn’t happen often, especially with songbirds. My secret? Stand still and quiet without any movement.

Did you notice that moment when it catches and releases the insect that literally flies into its beak? 😬 I wish, I recorded it in slow motion…
