Short-eared Owl wingspan - New York

Short-eared Owl in flight with fully stretched wings and tail:

I was lucky to photograph these owls numerous times but rarely got a photo of fully stretched wings showing its underside feathers.

As the shorties are starting to arrive in our area already, Iā€™m just counting days for their arrival to this very popular wintering spot in Ulster County, New York. If you are planning on visiting it this season, make sure to bring the longest lens you have and teleconverters. Even though, owls will come close once in a while, most of the time they are flying far in the distance.
