I always look for Red Knots whenever I’m photographing shorebirds on New Jersey or New York beaches. I don’t see them that often, therefore I’m trying to take advantage of any sightings to get a close, and unique shots. On this particular day, I was lucky to find few of them that stayed with me for few minutes and occasionally took a bath in a shallow water.

I believe this was my first time that I photographed a fully stretched underside wing of a Red Knot.
